Credentials and Certifications
Laura is an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) and a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) virtual and nutrition coach. She has over ten years of experience training in various disciplines, from basic cardio to bodybuilding and CrossFit.
Will has over twelve years of extensive experience in bodybuilding and resistance training. His deep understanding of nutrition and supplements, combined with his competitive bodybuilding background, allows him to offer a professional and expert approach to help you reach your fitness goals.
Throughout my life, I've been passionate about fitness, but I never achieved the results I desired. No matter how diligently I worked or what popular diets or fitness trends I tried, the outcomes were consistent: I might lose a few pounds, but I couldn't achieve my desired physique or maintain any weight loss. It wasn't until later that I understood the true formula for fitness. The secret everyone seeks isn't a secret at all; it's a difficult truth. Fitness is a lifestyle; it's about making small, consistent changes to one's daily routine, which, over time, yield lasting results.
My fitness background is quite extensive, encompassing various disciplines such as cardio, running, online training programs, CrossFit, yoga, kickboxing, weightlifting, and more. My expertise extends to numerous fitness training styles and dietary approaches, supported by advanced degrees in health, including a doctorate and an advanced nursing practice degree, as well as certifications in nutrition and online coaching. I am confident in my ability to provide the knowledge and guidance you need to achieve your goals, but success ultimately depends on your commitment to following through. I can provide you with the knowledge and answers to achieve your goals, but you must take the necessary steps for it to work. I'm not here to sell you a quick fix or a secret to achieving your health and fitness goals; instead, I'll teach you the essential variables that make up the fitness equation and help you tailor it to your lifestyle. Whether it's for a special occasion, to fit into a favorite outfit, to enjoy active playtime with family, or simply to improve overall well-being, we all have unique health aspirations. Ultimately, we strive for health and fitness to live fulfilling lives, and that's what I offer: a personalized solution to help you reach your goals.
Having experienced challenges such as being overweight, out of shape, and adapting to a new culture and country, I understand the feelings of discouragement, insecurity, and self-doubt that many people face. When choosing a coach, it's crucial to find someone who can listen attentively to your needs, evaluate your resources, and create a realistic and achievable plan. I was always the overweight kid/adult, from the age of 5 to 23 years old. I was lazy, played video games, wasn’t athletic enough to play school sports other than being an offensive linemen in football, and was never taught the basics on nutrition. After graduating high school, I took up drinking and partying. I had no self-confidence, a very poor self-image, and I felt like people weren’t taking me very seriously. Not a healthy lifestyle. At 22 years old, I was drinking on a nightly basis and always ate until I was full. My weight peaked at over 300lbs before I finally looked in the mirror and didn’t like what I saw and decided to make a change.
Starting out on the treadmill, I just started taking up walking and running for short periods of time. Eventually I saw small changes and reduced the amount of food I was eating to try to see even more results. After seeing more results, I began researching everything I could on nutrition and training. Making adjustments as I hit plateaus, I eventually got down to 175lbs. At this point, I decided to get a gym membership and start lifting weights with the goal of building muscle. I became a huge fan of bodybuilding and continued researching endlessly and experimenting with multiple different diets and training styles to find what worked. I always handled my own training and nutrition so I could learn my body. Several growth and cut phases later, I had built a large frame of muscle. I always wanted to step on stage but never had the confidence in myself to do it.
Fast forward to pre-COVID, I met Laura, my now fiancé. She saw how much I could change my body between growth and cut phases and encouraged me to hire a coach and compete in a show. With her support, I hired a coach and worked with that coach for over 2 years. The first year was spent getting a feel for my coach’s approach and they got to know my body and how it reacted to several different factors with training and diet. Year 2 is when I competed as a heavyweight in a bodybuilding competition and checked that off my bucket list. I had an amazing rebound of muscle growth following the show, and was ready to compete again, but building a life and family became my focus and I set my competition aspirations aside and have developed a passion helping others.
I enjoy paying it forward with the knowledge I’ve gained over my 15 years of constant research and trial and error. Having a first hand approach of a major life transformation and how it probably saved my life and added many more years of life, I hope to guide others to a life of happiness and fulfilment. Companies use marketing to tell you they know the “secret” to weight-loss or building muscle. The real answer is, it’s not a fancy secret or pill. It’s consistently and putting in the time and effort. My experience ranges from trying a large variety of different dieting methods(low carb, low fat, keto, palio, carb cycling, and many more) and training methods that include cardiovascular and endurance training, circuit training, bodybuilding, home workouts, longevity training, working around injuries, and more.
